Because this is based on mythology, I can't ask for originality everywhere, but do try to elaborate on the basics. Make it interesting, and make your characters your own.
Right, the format for characters is in each of the respective boards, so no need for that, but rules are as follows:
1) Characters may only be of the pre-described types unless you have permission from moi to do otherwise.
2) Powers restricted to those described, again, unless you have permission from moi.
3) There will be a register of pre-existing characters. If you want to use one, make sure someone hasn't got there first.
4) Original characters shouldn't just be copies of pre-existing ones with the names changed. That's cheating.
5) Nice, loooooong, descriptive character bios please. Lots of paragraphs. I promise, they will be read. Thoroughly.
6) Codeword must be added to the end of every character bio. The codeword is badger.

Okay, character types.
Your character can be:
1) A god/goddess.
2) A titan.
3) A personification.
4) A hero (either gender).
5) A normal human.
6) A monster.

God or Goddess
Character Powers-
For pre-existing deities, whatever they are generally ascribed in mythology. For original characters, whatever you can think up, but it mustn't be too superpowerful, otherwise it's not fair, and you can't just have all the powers available. You have to have a speciality. Nothing that will completely overrule another character and make them inferior. We must play nice.
General powers for all gods are as follows:
-Shape-changing (since mortals cannot look on your godly form without being instantly destroyed). -Language gift (you can speak any language fluently, write it and read it). -Mind communication (you can communicate telepathically, with anyone, unless they ignore you... obviously). -Transportation to and from Olympus. Only to and from Olympus. You can't fly (unless it's your power) and you cannot teleport at will. UNLESS you're a god of the Underworld, then you can teleport to your domain therein. -You can eat ambrosia and drink nectar without being destroyed. -You can heal when given ambrosia/nectar. -Stronger than humans, but not exponentially so.
Weaknesses-
Everything has a weakness. It doesn't have to be a physical one, could be a character trait or flaw. But there must be at least one. For gods, some form of holy/celestial weaponry is acceptable, since heroes and other beings can be equipped with it, and therefore be capable of harming gods.
General Things-
Gods are immortal in the sense that they never age, but for the purposes of the site, they can die, though they are harder to kill. You are not invincible. Gods can have a domain of their own if they wish, but you have to pm me to ask for it.

Titans
Titans run along the same lines as gods, power-wise, but with a few subtle differences.
-You cannot travel back and forward to Mount Olympus, except by conventional means (i.e. climbing it). -You, unlike mortals, can see gods in their godly form without problems. No immolation for you. -You can heal without needing ambrosia and nectar, though you can consume them. You just don't need to. -You have limits on shape changing, it has to be humanoid. No fluffy rabbits or rabid monsters. -You have no godly form, and so cannot immolate passing mortals.

Personifications
Powers-
-You have some control over the thing you control. Like if you are the personification of fear, you can make people scared etc. You are not more powerful than gods though. If a god has the same power as you, they will be better at it, unless you beat them by cunning means. -You are immortal (as in you don't age, you can be killed). -You can shape change between yourself and an alternate form which is linked with your ability- fire personification has a flame alter ego and so on. It link you with your power, and makes it stronger. You can use your powers in human form, but they are weaker.
Weaknesses-
-You are subject to the problems with gods faced by mortals (you can't see them in godly form, consume ambrosia/nectar etc.) -You can be killed, and wounded by conventional means. -You have weaknesses linked to those of your ability, so a fire personification will have problems with water and so on.
General-
You can go to Mount Olympus, but no magical transportation. Walking or other normal transport only.

Heroes
Heroes are the sons and daughters of one god/titan/personification and one mortal or other such being (human/hero etc.).
Powers-
-Superhuman strength. -Ability to consume nectar/ambrosia. -Some of the abilities of the immortal parent, though to a lesser degree. -Freedom to travel to any domain of a god. Other gods may only enter if invited. -Increased life-span (about twice human). -Quicker healing time.
Weaknesses-
-Excepting the above powers, you are human. -You can and will die eventually. -You are subject to the limitations of your powers, just as your parent is. -You cannot heal from mortal wounds, though the definition of mortal is less strict than for humans. -You cannot, unless it is the god-parent's speciality, speak or read or write other languages other than from having learned them. -None of the other basic god abilities apply, unless part of the parent's speciality.
General-
Gods are permitted to ask you to perform a quest for them. You are not obliged to answer, but be aware that kudos (and possibly benefits on the site... pm me...) are available for you if you do.

Human
Exactly what it says on the tin. Human. You know the drill with strengths and weaknesses, with one exception. You can have the gift of prophecy from a god/goddess/titan/personification. If so, you can see the thoughts of others, their intentions and their type (god/human/titan or whatever). You can also see into the future, though not with absolute accuracy.

Monsters
Powers-
-Like personification, but evil. -Also ability to transport self to and from the Underworld. -Can sense when people are good or evil, and their type (including prophets).
Weaknesses-
-As personification. -Can be hurt by water from the River Styx.

Extra info:
- Pre-existing characters adhere to the hierarchy of which they were a part. Basically, if you create a character from an actual mythology, then they must be true to that character. No all-powerful Hermes or weakling Zeus etc., so I'm assuming that the generally accepted hierarchy is the rule. This goes for Norse/Egyptian/Celtic/Eastern/Babylonian/any other mythologies too. If you make Enlil, he is chief god, if Inanna, she's not.
- Different mythologies are equal. So a chief god of one culture is EQUALLY POWERFUL to a chief of another. This is only fair.
- Orignal characters (if gods/titans etc.) must adhere to this hierarchy too. Find a place you think they belong and keep them there. No suddenly developing enough power to smite everyone when you've only been a minor player all along.
